NORTHERN PIKE

Expect to catch numerous Northern Pike ranging from 3 – 6lbs with the possibility of catching some in the 10 – 25 lb range. These fish are considered one of the fiercest and most thrilling game fish to catch. You can fish for Northerns throughout the fishing season. The pike can be trolled for or lured out of weed beds using numerous types of presentations SUCH AS: Rapalas, Len Thomson spoons, Mepps spinners, Lucky Strike Plugs, Suicks & Jigs. Fly fishing for Northerns is becoming very popular. Experiment with your bait and prepare for a great time!!!! Wire leaders should be used while fishing for Northerns as their razor sharp teeth will SLICE through normal line. Northerns tend to stay in more shallow water in the spring, moving somewhat deeper as the water warms up.
